I just finished the 4 parts of the Shane Gillis/Louis CK podcast that MM reccomended. It did not disappoint. Louie made a point to say that he didn’t give a fuck about the politics he just wanted to talk about the individuals, their personalities, and what motivated them to reach rhe presidency. Great stories, non sequitors and incredibly funny bits. Best of all a main character of the series is your mother’s cunt. Yes, you reading this right now, your mother’s cunt. Wanted to highlight for the Fifthdom an example of The NY Times actually “Journalisming.” This Lia Thomas Piece from the weekend was the most balanced thing I’ve read from them in months. No commentary about how those concerned with Lia Thomas competing are bigots, and showing a lot of empathy for the female athletes who feel it’s unfair to let Thomas compete. The activists are gonna hate this one because there’s straightforward discussion about the the biological sex vs gender debate. Bravo, NYT. Great stuff guys, as always. I gotta say I think Kmele is being too easy on Ms. Cooper. I’m not saying Mr. Cooper was reasonable in how he seems to have been an aggressive “Karen” in taking it upon himself to aggressively enforce the leash rules. However, if she was actually afraid, I think she’d leave; she’d put distance between her and the guy of whom she was afraid. In my (uninformed) opinion, it seems like she was mad and trying to get even with a jerk, which would have been fine. But the way she said she’d call the police and tell them that an African American man was threatening her seems like she was going to teach him to mess with her, with the implicit threat of when the cops come he’d face the risk of police brutality.
Ooof... "Michael Moynihan, in a way that only he can, looks at how crypto and the metaverse became such an unregulated mess"... never change Vice, you do you
I know you guys only over-index for libertarians, and are about as far removed from capital L politics as possible, also this would make Moynihan's eyes roll back inside his head, so maybe he could sit this one out. But I'd love to see Matt and Kmele have on Brian Doherty, or maybe even Amash on, to discuss the recent LP national convention, and what it's results might mean for the future of the party.
I've been Never Fly Coach since 1/25/21. I'm happy to pay the 50 per month but with the new Substack subscriptions there's no way to pay another amount other than 10 per month. At the moment I can't afford to pay $600 up front for a year of NFC (or even 300). So until I can wrangle that kind of bread I'm knocking myself down to 10 bucks a month. Sorry guys. Even though I've never gotten anything in return that I couldn't have received for the regular price, other than the smug satisfaction of paying extra for something I love, I still feel bad.
Going to tell my kids that first pic is of the Beastie Boys
I started reading Revolt of the Public this weekend (it’s amazing) and am listening to the Martin Gurri episode 🤘🏼 https://wethefifth.substack.com/p/225-w-martin-gurri-the-revolt-of-d89

Anyone else waiting for Biden to refer to himself as “The first black president”?
First it was baby formula. Now it’s monkey sex. Whatever happened to our guiltless pleasures?
Ok so do y’all have any substacks (not necessarily podcasts) that you all like? Open to anything.
Could there be some discussions on the wheat and grain crisis the world is going to be happening, plus the massive inflation that is happening.

“Guns don't kill people. Unlocked doors kill people” - from the Gospel According to Donald J. Trump.
